Very uncommon Myott Art Deco Trumpet Jug in the largest of the 3 sizes that this shape of jug was produced in. The jug stands 21.7cm (8.5 inches) tall and is 18cm (7 inches) from spout to handle, base 9.8cm (3.9 inches) in diameter. The pattern is of stylised Art Deco flowers in blue, pink, purple and yellow. The handle is yellow and green with blue base and green inner rim.
The piece is fully marked with the gold Myott crown and is attributed to B.A.G. Co. Ltd., which stands for British American Glass. The pattern number is 9732 and there is a registration mark REGD. No. 779152 which dates to 1932. There is also a ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’ mark in russet and also a blue, indiscernible painter’s mark. The trumpet jug is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or restoration. This is a particularly bright piece from the Myott pottery.
